Red Hot Mamas is the nation’s largest menopause management education and support program.  Its mission is to broaden the base of women’s knowledge about menopause and empower them to become educated healthcare consumers and active participants in the management of their menopause.  The program provides valuable healthcare information and psychosocial support to its members to optimize their health as they approach menopause and beyond.

The concept of Red Hot Mamas originated in 1991 by Karen L. Giblin, in Ridgefield, CT.  The organization expanded its educational efforts and currently works with hospitals and physician group practices to deliver services which cater to the needs of the growing menopause market.  Our success has exceeded our expectations.  Attendance at monthly programs ranges from 35 to 250 women. Currently, programs are offered at hospitals and physician group practices in 28 states.  Some of our sites have over 4,000 Red Hot Mamas members.

Red Hot Mamas is recognized by physicians, allied health professionals, consumers and the media as the premier, quality menopause education program.  Articles about Red Hot Mamas have been featured in Fortune, Family Circle, Good Housekeeping, Living Fit, Time, Harper’s Bazaar and Reader’s Digest’s New Choices magazines.  In addition, the program has received national media attention, including segments on CNN, Today Show and Good Morning America, as well as other national television networks.

Karen Giblin is a member of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and has presented research conducted by her group at the annual NAMS meetings. In addition, Karen speaks nationally on women’s healthcare issues.  Karen is also the co-author of a book, published by Parthenon Publishing, in 2004, “Manual of Management Counseling for the Perimenopausal and Menopausal Patient…A Clinician’s Guide”.

Our program license is available to your hospital for an initial licensing fee and each additional year of RHM programming can be renewed - renewed programs receive new/updated sets of program materials including topics, learning objectives, PowerPoint slide kits, handouts, etc.

The Program

The menopause management education programs of PRIME PLUS® are designed to help women acquire medically sound information about menopause in order to maximize their quality of life.  Healthcare organizations license the program and utilize one of the trademarked names -- Red Hot Mamas®, PRIME PLUS®, or LIFE PASSAGES® -- to promote regular meetings covering the many topics related to menopause.
